Welcome to the Digital Knowledge Hub!

Nowadays, while scrolling through social media, your eyes are suddenly caught by an advertisement, right? Or you want to read a book cover, or you just see a brand logo and you have a belief in its quality. Have you ever wondered, whose magic is working behind this whole thing?
The answer is very simple—graphics design!
Today, in this special series of ‘Digital Knowledge Hub’, we will learn about the basics of graphic design. If you are completely new to the world of design or want to learn design for your own business, then this guideline is for you!
🎨 What exactly is graphic design?

Many people think that graphic design means drawing or illustration. But in simple terms: Graphic design is a means of visual communication to convey information or messages to people. That is, when a problem is solved or a message is given by using color, font or text (Typography), image (Image) and various shapes (Shape), that is graphic design.
💡 Real example:
When we see a traffic sign (such as a red light or a stop sign) on the road, we know what to do. But there is no big text there, only a specific color and shape conveys the message. This is also a part of the design!
🛠️ Popular software used in graphics design

The first step in learning design is to choose the right tool. There are several popular software programs used in the industry today:
| Adobe Photoshop | Photo editing, digital painting, photo manipulation | Photo editor and web designer |
| Adobe Illustrator | Logo, Vector Art, Banner, Branding Design | Illustrator and Brand Designer |
| Canva | Create social media templates quickly and easily | Brand new or content creator |
| Figma | User Interface (UI) and App Design | Product and website designer |
💡 Why is graphic design still a great career option in 2026?
As the digital world grows, the demand for design is also increasing. Why should you learn this skill?
- Work diversity and uniqueness: Every project is different, so there is no boredom in this work.
- Remote jobs and freelancing: There is an opportunity to work from anywhere in the world. Designers are in high demand on international marketplaces like Upwork, Fiverr.
- Marketing your own business: If you have your own business, you can do your own branding.
🚀 How to start as a newbie? (3 key tips)
- Observe Design: Look at good designs. Spend 10-15 minutes every day on platforms like Pinterest, Behance or Dribbble and observe trending designs.
- Learn principles, not tools: You cannot become a good designer by just learning how to use software. Gain knowledge about the basic principles of design such as color theory and typography.
- Learn by replicating: You don’t need to create something completely new in the beginning. Try to create exactly the same design in software after seeing a good design. This will increase your hand speed and clarity.
